Newsweek Magazine Ranks Bethesda Among America’s Best Nursing Homes of 2022

Willmar, Minn. – Newsweek Magazine ranks Bethesda among America’s Best Nursing Homes of 2022. According to the October 8, 2021 publication, Newsweek partnered with global data researcher, Statista to analyze nursing homes within the 25 most populated states, analyzing their performance in three critical categories: overall performance data, peer recommendations, and the facility’s handling of COVID-19.

Throughout the past year, Bethesda has been frequently recognized as a top-ranked facility by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) five-star ratings, and Minnesota Department of Health Quality Indicators reports for both short-term and long-term residents.

Newsweek created the annual ranking of America’s Best Nursing Homes to make it easier for family members to compare and evaluate facilities, especially during the current age of COVID-19.

Statista used data from CMS reports that analyze staffing, quality measures, and health and safety inspections to examine performance data for eligible facilities. Peer recommendations were derived from survey results from ten thousand medical experts, including physicians, licensed nurses, and other medical professionals who participated in an online survey during July and August of 2021. Facilities were also given a COVID-19 score generated from analysis of medical supplies, staffing, COVID-19 cases, deaths, and CMS provided data for resident vaccination rates. Following the examination of each of these key performance indicators, facilities were categorized by state and ranked accordingly.

Bethesda ranked 5th for Minnesota-based facilities.
