Willmar, MN — Bethesda is excited to announce it has been selected for the second year in a row to partner with Wish of a Lifetime’s Cupid Crew program to spread love, joy, and meaningful connection to older adults this Valentine’s Day.
Nearly one in four adults age 65 and older experience isolation — meaning millions of older adults may spend Valentine’s Day without a visit, card, or meaningful interaction. Cupid Crew is a national initiative designed to help bridge that gap by mobilizing volunteers of all ages to deliver roses and warm greetings to older adults in communities across the country.
This year, Bethesda has been selected to receive 625 roses that will be delivered to residents across all Bethesda facilities as well as clients in Bethesda Adult Day Services.
Bethesda is grateful not only for the generous donation from Wish of a Lifetime, but also for the continued support of the local community that helps brighten the lives of those we serve year-round. This year, local Homeschool Co-op families will assist Bethesda team members with rose deliveries on Friday, February 13, and the Willmar American Legion has donated more than 65 bud vases to help make the deliveries even more special.
“Being selected again is a tremendous honor,” said Mary Latham, Bethesda Foundation Director. “This program is such a simple but powerful reminder that older adults matter, and that they deserve to feel loved, valued, and remembered.”
